Karla Taylor
A Senior Consultant with Focus on Results, Karla Taylor has served as a
teacher, high school principal, district administrator and assistant to
the superintendent in several districts in southern California.
Most recently working with the Fullerton Joint Union High
School District, her responsibilities there included working closely
with teachers to align curriculum to standards and refining and
demonstrating "best practices" in improving student achievement.
In the Long Beach Unified School District, Mrs. Taylor worked
with elementary, middle and secondary schools in designing and
implementing programs to address issues of drug and gang involvement.
In her previous assignments as a site principal in ABC Unified
and Fullerton Joint Union High School District, her areas of priority
included establishing small learning communities, Partnership
Academies, and raising achievement levels for all students.
Mrs. Taylor has an extensive background in presentations and
received the Annual Leadership Award from the Los Angeles County Board
of Supervisors. She was also awarded the California Department of
Education's Principal Award for her school's recognition as a
California Distinguished High School.
