Derlys Gutierrez
A Senior Consultant with Focus on Results, Ms. Gutierrez has been an attorney for 18 years, representing public school districts in matters involving employment issues, public sector bargaining, special education law, and general school law. For over ten years, Ms. Gutierrez was the director of human resources for an urban public school district in New Jersey with approximately 13,000 students and 2,000 employees. Currently, she is a partner with Adams, Stern, Gutierrez & Lattiboudere, a law firm specializing in the representation of private sector employers and public school districts.
Ms. Gutierrez is an expert facilitator and professional development provider. She provides support to principals, teachers and central office administrators to help them become focused on improving teaching and learning.
A graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University, and of Rutgers University School of Law, Ms. Gutierrez has dedicated her professional career to providing school districts with coaching and technical support that proactively seeks solutions. As an adjunct professor with Caldwell College, she taught school law and human resources management to aspiring school principals. She is fluent in Spanish.
