Frances Crear Byfield
A Senior Consultant with Focus On Results, Frances is currently the
principal of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, a K-5,
four-track, year-round school in the Santa Ana (Calif.) Unified School
District.
Ms. Byfield has worked in education since 1974 as a teacher,
resource teacher, assistant principal, and as a principal for the past
14 years. Literacy is the main focus of King School, where her staff
has continually demonstrated strong growth in both English and two-way
Spanish immersion programs.
Ms. Byfield has a bachelor's degree from California State
University (Los Angeles) and a master's degree from the University of
Southern California. She is on the state board for the Association of
California School Administrators and is a part-time faculty member at
Concordia University.
